All are invited to explore “Extraordinary Living” at Second Congregational Church during this Sunday morning’s 10 o’clock worship service. Three athletes will speak about how physical activity makes them feel the glory of God as human beings more fully alive through mindful exercise. Celebrating Mary


CELEBRATING MARY

Celebrating Mary Lee Clark’s 23 years as pastor of Second Congregational Church, on her retirement April 15, worship was glorious with music by the chancel choir, hand bell choir, Gospel choir and by Music Director Matt Edwards on organ and piano. Communion was celebrated, Mary was released from her vows as pastor, and she was presented with books of photos and memories of her time as pastor, a hand-made quilt, a floral promise of a video of congregation members and friends telling their memories, and a box of chocolates together with gifts from the congregation towards her retirement travel. Following worship, the luncheon in Webster Hall featured lasagna and salad, a delicious cake made and decorated by Dara Lindley, and tributes by Tom Steffen and Ernie Lafontaine to Mary and her family.

Snowball Bazaar 2017

Second Congregational Church was a “hopping place” Friday December 1 and 2 with the 69th annual Snowball Bazaar! Community folks crowded the Serendipity rooms seeking bargains and Silent Auction searching out treasures. Handmade treats for cats, dogs and wild birds drew animal lovers to Pet Pourri. Bennington Battle Day Parade

For the Bennington Battle Day Parade, Second Congregational Church’s Sun and Fun team (in yellow shirts) joined with the local Climate advocates group (blue shirts) and the Peace and Justice Resource people to march in the parade carrying signs and a 6-ft earth, which drew lots of applause from spectators.

Joyful Path

During worship August 6, the children had the polar bears sliding on their iceberg and swimming in the surrounding “ocean” as the kids learned something about icebergs melting in the Arctic.
