Sun and Fun Festival 2018 Details

What: A community celebration of the environment and sustainability with live music, over 25 local community groups, special displays, break out sessions, kids activities, and a delicious luncheon. Date: August 25 Rain or Shine Time: 10 am-3 pm PLUS: Special talk on Vermont and Environmental Policy by State Senator Brian Campion: August 24, 7pm
Place: Second Congregational Church, 115 Hillside St, Bennington Admission: Free!
Food: A delicious luncheon will be available, made with fresh organic produce donated by sponsor Mighty Food Farms
Restrooms: Inside the building, handicapped accessible and gender/identity friendly.
There will be a quiet room available for those who need it.
Music: Hale Mountain Pickers and the Throwbacks

August 24, at 7 pm at Second Congregational Church. State Senator Brian Campion: “Vermont and Environmental Policy: The Green Mountain state is not as green as you might think.” This important discussion will look at what the state is and isn’t doing around such issues as cleaning up its waters, mitigating climate change, and protecting its residents from harmful chemicals. Senator Campion will discuss how citizens can most effectively advance state environmental policies important to them. It is sure to interest anyone who cares about the environment and wants to learn what more they can do to protect it. Senator Campion is Vice-Chair of the Committee on Natural Resources and Energy and a member of the Finance Committee. He has authored and worked on a range of environmental policies aimed at creating a cleaner and safer environment. Campion is also the Director of Public Policy Programs at the Elizabeth Coleman Center for the Advancement of Public Action at Bennington College.
